When not running Nikki works full time as the Practice Manager of a busy privately owned Allied Health Clinic in Scoresby and Rowville in Victoria. Her other big achievement is her 18 year old son Dan who she loves supporting him while he peruses and AFL career. In her down time she loves walking her mini sausage dog Barney, spending time with her family and friends.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Nikki in action, watching in awe at her gracefully glide past me many times at ultra laps events. & I now have the honour of Nikki wearing Warrioress, Nikki also advised me on my recent run & her time out to support & share her wisdom was gratefully received & her words resonated with me throughout my race & so now sharing here with you, what makes her a true Warrioress that believes & achieves.
1) Motivations: What makes you strive & thrive? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
First and fore most I love running, outside of my running I enjoy being part the successful team and Rise Health Group. If I am being honest, being busy is what I like to do. I love setting extraordinary challenges that most people would find beyond the limits of possible. Knowing I have a purpose to get out of bed each morning, to put into place the training so I can achieve these goals.
2) Inspirations: What / who / where inspires you? What influences your actions/life?
As a teenager who played state level tennis, I drew inspiration from Andre Agassi. His training, his hard work ethic and dedication to the sport, motivated me to be the best I can at anything I set out to achieve. This philosophy has lived with me in all aspects of my life and I now draw huge inspiration from those who set goals and work hard to achieve them.
3) Self care: What rituals / routines / practices / training do you use to nurture / strengthen yourself?
My morning ritual is a coffee and quiet time, planning my day before I head out for my training. I use my time when running to do a lot of positive self talk. Affirmations of who I am and what I am capable of, and reflecting on the amazing achievements in my life so far. This includes raising my son Dan who is now 18, as well as working full time as a Practice Manager for a busy Allied Health Clinic. This positive mindset, sets the tone for my hunger for success with my running and within my workplace.
4) Self belief: What do you believe about yourself? How does that affect what you do?
Anything is possible. You only get back what you put in. There is no I in team. Your attitude determines your altitude.. I have a “can do” approach to life and always look for the best in people.
5) Warrioress: your favourite style from the range & why?
My favourite style is the recycled Mountain bloom skort. The colours and the pretty flowers, make me feel really feminine and girly. The skort is so comfortable and light weight in the warm weather.
